Doing what you say you’re going to do

When I ran for this office two years ago, I told you I would work hard and do my homework on the issues. I told you I would read all the bills before I voted on them. I told you I would listen to the constituents. I told you I would rely upon my conservative values and common sense in doing the work in Cheyenne. I fulfilled my promises. And I promise to do it again.

During my first two years in Cheyenne, I rolled up my sleeves and worked to provide House District 40 voters with a respected voice in the legislature. This effort paid off to ensure your voices were heard and that our district had a capable and competent voice in Cheyenne.
Because of effective representation, this year, the Legislature passed several bills that specifically benefit House District 40.

  • House Bill 89: I led the charge to collect ad valorem mineral taxes from those few oil and gas companies that never pay their fair share of taxes.

  • House Bill 100: I protected the voters of HD40 by preventing the legislature from breaking up the district and moving some voting precincts into a majority of Campbell County District.

  • House Bill 17: I worked to permanently protect the state trust land around the Veteran’s Home from mining development to ensure the tranquility of the campus for veterans and the scenic value for everyone.
